No matter the purpose of your trip, you can take up to 10 kg (22 lb) of carry-on baggage with you, divided in one or two pieces. One can be a standard piece, for example, a carry-on or roller bag, and the other,
one personal item as: a handbag, a laptop suitcase, a backpack, a purse, a camera bag or a shopping bag.
In any case, it is important to be aware of the prohibited carry-on baggage items and their restrictions. Please note that if your carry-on baggage exceeds the limits, it will be considered as checked baggage.
Have a look at the box on the right to check allowed carry-on baggage for reference. Maximum dimensions include wheels and handles.
What items am I allowed to bring with me?
Before you fly, is important to consider the following recommendations:
Containers of non-flammable liquids, aerosols or gels may have a maximum capacity of 100 ml (3.4 oz). All they must fit in a quart-sized bag.
Liquids acquired after passing the security check at the airport (restaurants and shops located around departure gates, the duty free area, etc.) can be transported as carry-on baggage if they don’t exceed the size and weight limits mentioned above.
Alcoholic beverages have special restrictions. You can check them here.
For more information about the restricted items in your carry-on baggage please visit the Restricted items page.
According to TSA regulations, it's not allowed during flights to United States to bring on carry-on baggage any powder-like substances in containers of 12 ounces (350 ml) or larger.
Baby formula, prescription drugs and cremated human remains can exceed those limitations as long as they are contained on sealed packages. Any item bought in duty free with these characteristics may be carried in safety bags which cannot be manipulated.
Only baby formula can be brought in open containers like baby bottles and milk containers if they are not larger than 12 oz (350 ml).
Any doubts you have on a specific item, please visit the official TSA (Transportation Security Administration) site, where you’ll find all the information related to what can be in your carry-on baggage.
