Nor wheelchairs or mobility aids are subject to our baggage policy, which means that can be transported at no cost. However, due to space limitations, these items can only be transported as checked baggage.
Battery-powered wheelchairs are allowed, if the battery is sealed to avoid leakage of its content (it is not necessary to insulate electrolyte-type batteries). Batteries must be disconnected and the terminals insulated to prevent accidental short-circuits.
Although you can take your own wheelchair during the flight, since mobility aids are required to travel in the baggage compartment, Interjet, upon request, can provide proper mobility assistance within the airport.
Please, request this service through our section Special services or contact to the Customer Care Center at least 72 hours prior to your flight. Please note that the service does not include help within washroom areas.
The complete information about wheelchair usability can be provided at our Customer Care Center or directly at the airports. The wheelchair service starts an hour before your flight departure, from the check-in counter to the gate, including the security checkpoints. It won’t be possible to make stops in stores or banks. Please arrive at least an hour earlier of the suggested check-in time for national flights and 2 hours earlier for international flights to ensure the proper handling and packaging of your items.
